Puthukad is a Legislative Assembly Constituency in Thrissur district of Kerala. The Constituency includes Alagappanagar, Mattathur, Nenmanikkara, Parappukkara, Puthukkad, Varandarappilly and Trikkur Panchayats in Mukundapuram Taluk and Vallachira Panchayat in Thrissur Taluk. . The Constituency came into affect after the 2008 delimitation.
Alagappa Nagar is one of the Village in Kodakara Taluk in Thrissur District in Kerala State . Alagappa Nagar is 12.7 km far from its District Main City Thrissur . There is a Textile Mill factory in this town named Alagappanagar Textile Mill Factory. There is also a Polytechnic called Thiagarajar Polytechnic College having engineering departments of Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.
Mattathur is situated east to Kodakara which is about a 20 km from Thrissur. Mattathur is famous for many temples. Mainly Areswaram Sastha temple,which is situated in Aareswaram hill near Vasupuram which is also known as mini-Sabarimala and Sthreeklude Sabarimala.

Puthukad is a town situated on the banks of Kurumali River, also known as Karuvannur River, in Kerala. The town is 14 km to the south of Thrissur, 16 km to the north of Chalakudy, and 1.2 km west of Cheruval.
Puthukad is on the Irinjalakuda-Thrissur railway line. Both KSRTC and private bus services connect Puthukad to Ernakulam, Thrissur & Palakkad.
The Nedumbassery (Kochi) International Airport is located approximately 35 km south of Puthukad.
